Travel During the Pandemic

Following these steps will help to make your trip enjoyable.

*** As the rules are changing on a regular basis, this is just a guideline and possibly more strict than the actual rules when you read this. Respect is the basic consideration when it comes to everything in NYC.

If you’re planning on visiting New York City during the Covid19 pandemic there are a few things that you need to know. To be on the safe side, always be prepared to show proof of vaccination and wear a mask. You will often need to show ID as well and often proof of a negative Covid19 test. It is wise to make certain that you have all of these things with you. Following these steps will help to make your trip enjoyable.

Below is a basic list of requirements and they are of course subject to change:

  • Free Covid19 tests are available all around the city including those that you will need when preparing to fly again.

  • New Yorkers typically wear masks indoors at most businesses and many of them require that you wear a mask for entrance.

  • Restaurants require proof of vaccination and ID to eat indoors. Some also require proof and ID to dine outdoors.

  • Museums and many businesses including shops also require proof of vaccination.

  • Broadway shows and indoor entertainment venues require masks and proof of vaccination. Some also require proof of a test as well.
